Obituary for Sharon Kaye Ingold (born Sharon Kaye Swearingen)

Born in Bakersfield CA on April 4,1944 to Cecil Howard Sr. and Dorothy Swearingen. Married to Darrell James Ingold on April 10th, 1965 in San Francisco CA. Died in Roseburg OR November 2, 2024 (but not before voting for Donald Trump!) She is survived by her husband, Darrell of Roseburg OR and daughter Lois Lynn Flores of Portland OR.

Sharon had two siblings, sister Rexie Burns of Bakersfield CA who survives her and brother Cecil Howard Swearingen Jr. who pre-deceased her as did both of her parents and her step mother Anamary Swearingen.

In addition, Sharon is survived by her self-adopted family (owners and employees at Casey's Restaurant), who loved her dearly and treated her like family. They were her "Casey's Kids". She had many friends from Casey's customers but especially Barbara Lewis, her best friend of many years who was also from Bakersfield.

Sharon lived her life in Bakersfield until Darrell's retirement in 2000 when they moved to Roseburg OR where she then resided for 24 years until her death.

A graduate of East Bakersfield High School, she also obtained an AA degree at Bakersfield Community College. She worked for Continental Telephone (now Verizon) for 10 years but then retired to become a full time Mom to Lois.

She had many talents including organizing events, cooking and was quite creative with various crafts such as sewing and card making using rubber stamps then enhancing them in various ways. She would send these to friends. Later in life she started wood burning and excelled at that craft also. She was very patriotic and loved her country; not afraid to wear the colors to prove it.

She was well known for promoting "Laughter is the Best Medicine" and was very witty in conversation. Unfortunately, she developed Dementia about 5 years ago giving her problems with everyday life but she never lost her sense of humor. She influenced the lives of a great many people, far more than she ever realized. They will miss her wit.

God has blessed her greatly and finally took away the dementia that plagued her last few years. She is now at peace and waiting for me in the northwest corner of heaven where she prearranged to meet friends and family who have gone before. She has finally been released from the darkness of her dementia.

At her request, there will be no funeral and a party will be held in her honor late this coming Spring at our home in Roseburg. Only HAPPY MEMORIES allowed!!

Among her possessions was a book titled "Time for Joy". The following includes several hand written favorites from the book and from other friends.

The cross affirms to me that God loves me and I will honor that love by receiving it. ...from her dear friend Denny Boultinghouse (one of those people she plans to meet in the NW corner of heaven; he is waiting for her right now). Are people surprised by the difference that God makes in your life..........Or are they surprised that he makes no difference in your life??

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain!

A true friend is one who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

Remember: Whatever happens, happens for a reason.

You can't change the past but you can ruin the present by worrying over the future.

A smile is the light in the window of your face that tells people you're at home.

God determines who walks into your life....it's up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay and who you refuse to let go.

Worry about nothing, pray for everything.

The tears happen. Endure, grieve and move on. The only one who is with us our entire life is ourselves. BE ALIVE WHILE YOU ARE ALIVE!

Yes My Dear, we WILL do exactly that but we still miss you!
